Ulytau Museum of Local Lore in Zhezkazgan – founded on May 10, 1978 by decision of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR on the basis of the historical and industrial museum of the Zhezkazgan mining and smelting plant.
The main activities of the museum are scientific research, collecting, accounting and storage, exposition and popularization.
