Altyn shoki is a historical place located 18 km from the village of Sarlyk. According to legend, Aksak stopped here in search of a place to rest during his campaign against Tokhtamys. In order to perpetuate his name, he built a large stone mound for his soldiers and wrote in ancient Greek: “In the year 769, I went on a campaign against Tokhtamys with a 200,000-strong army, God bless you.” In 1935, academician Kanysh Imantayui Satbaev, in the course of his regular archaeological work, found a plate and sent it to the Hermitage for inspection.
